My son noticed the statue of an angel in the yard of an old church and suddenly began to pray: a few months later something shocking happened to us

My son is now 7 years old. Since birth, he has been confined to a wheelchair. The doctors said it coldly and bluntly: “He will never be able to walk.” But this condition did not make him weak. On the contrary.

He is growing up to be an incredibly smart, bright boy who loves reading books and asking hundreds of questions about everything.

And yet he has one dream – in his case, an impossible one. He dreams of becoming a runner.

Of course, he understands that his diagnosis is a huge obstacle. But no one can forbid someone to dream. And he dreams, hopes, and believes.

I honestly admit, sometimes I catch myself thinking: “I want to be like my son – just as optimistic, just as strong, and able to love life, no matter what.”

One day something happened to which I didn’t pay much attention at the time. We were walking near an old church when he suddenly asked me to stop, having noticed a large statue of an angel in the yard.

— “Dad, wait,” he said.

I stopped the wheelchair, and then something happened that I had not expected at all. My son put his hands together, closed his eyes, and began to pray. His voice trembled, but every word was sincere:

— “I want to walk. Please give me strength. I won’t do anything bad and I will always be good.”

My heart tightened at this child’s prayer. I didn’t know what to say, I just stood next to him while he prayed. Then he opened his eyes, smiled, and said:

— “Let’s go, Dad.”

I thought it was just a moment of childlike faith, nothing more. Soon I forgot about it. But my son – he didn’t forget.

A few months later, something completely unexpected happened that left us in shock 😲😲 To be continued in the first comment 👇👇

Months had passed. We went for a routine check-up with the doctor. Everything was as usual: standard questions, examination, the usual notes in the medical file. But at some point, the doctor frowned and looked closely at my son.

— “Are you saying that when you poured tea and a few drops spilled on your legs, you felt pain?” he asked, incredulously.

— “Yes. Why?” my son replied, surprised.

The doctor fell silent, then sighed deeply and said words that made my head spin:

— “You see, if you felt pain, it means that sensation has returned to your legs. And that is an incredibly important sign. It means not everything is lost. You have a chance.”

I couldn’t believe my ears. For years they had told us that everything was hopeless. And suddenly – hope.

The doctor explained: to give my son the chance to walk, a complicated surgery would be needed. Very expensive, and requiring long rehabilitation.

Now we are raising money for the operation. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers who have heard our story are helping us.

And you know what? I no longer have any doubt. My son will stand up. He will become a runner. Because faith, hope, and love are stronger than any diagnosis.
